Consider this a point to make things more absurd. Last I checked, the Wolverine movie was already finished and that we’re only waiting for more leaked trailers until the movie comes out in May of 2009. So when I caught the buzz that there were problems between director Gavin Hood and CEO Tom Rothman over the look and feel of the movie, I said “pfft.”
I wanted to know where the story originally came from since it sounded like a triumphant publicity stunt from a wannabe blog, but it looks like the gossip has already spread like wildfire.
Nonetheless, the Wolverine movie should work out well (*cross fingers*), it’s definitely gonna be dark, and he wont fly. So let’s all move on and look at similar problems happening with Punisher. At least that one’s worth a look.
This is a rehashed version of what I had originally written in Movie News about the Wolverine movie trailer that leaked online from the San Diego Comic Con.
I had recently though that Kodi Smit McPhee was gonna be playing the young Logan in the Wolverine movie. Kodi is already one that acts phenomenally and I’d suggest you to watch him Romolus, My Father so you know the type of talent that kid has. However, it is actually Troye Sivan who’ll be playing Hugh Jackman’s younger version in the film.
I dont know much about Troye Sivan other than what is written in his Wikipedia page:
He was chosen for the role after Hugh Jackman saw him sing at the Channel Seven Perth Telethon. Though Kodi Smit-McPhee was already cast for this role, he was unable to be a part of the movie, due to his other movie, The Road.
Well I guess this clears things up. And just in case you haven’t check the video up top yet, that’s Troye singing, it seems he’s done theater as well. I hope he does well in his Hollywood debut. XMen Origins: Wolverine comes out May 1, 2009.
As I was checking updates on Jesse Bradford’s The Echo movie, I noticed the name Kevin Durand and somehow knew to have come across him before. I checked his IMDB and found him to play Blob in the Marvel flick Wolverine coming in 2009. Other marvel characters part of the movie are Gambit (played by Taylor Kitsch), Sabertooth (Liev Schreiber), and Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds).
Gambit is already one that I thought should’ve been in the XMen movies from way back since he’s had a huge role with regards to the stories of Rogue and Storm. I’ve also liked the idea of southern, card slinging nomads with red ruby eyes kicking bad guys butts. Being part of the Wolverine movie might actually be better for him since he’s not trapped with other big name superheroes.
He might be playing a villain (or anti hero) in the movie though:
After his exile from New Orleans, he wandered the world and became a master professional thief, making many contacts (and quite a few enemies). During this period, Gambit found he had an uncontrollable amount of energy flowing through him, to the point that he could not withstand it. Desperate, Gambit went to Mister Sinister for help. Sinister modified Gambit’s power, making him significantly less powerful, but able to control the still considerably large amount of power in him.
However, Sinister wanted the favor returned, so Gambit carried out various missions for him. For the last of these operations, Gambit gathered together a group of mercenaries which Sinister named the Marauders. The group included the mutant Sabretooth as one of its members. Source
This photo doesn’t offer much other than the fact that it is Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. The photo is part of an article (about the movie, of course) in one of the movie magazines (I do not know exactly which). The movie is scheduled to show in 2009.
