As part of my whole quest to regularly write about Asian movies in BackLineMedia, I thought to list down some great resources about Asian arts. I couldn’t limit these resources solely to Asian movies because, unlike Hollywood where gossip and movies could be two different niches, it’s really hard to segment showbiz segments in the region.
I dont really know why CNN would even be concerned in asking for the top favorite Asia Pacific movie of all time. They will give the winner an award - the CNN APSA Viewers Choice Award at the APSA Awards on November 11th, but it does sound a bit weird that they’re the ones pioneering.
Asian movies are among the most unnoticed bunch of films in the world. I couldn’t speak for Filipino flicks but I have noticed some really good Korean and Japanese (especially Japanese) films of late. If anything, I think this adds to our exfosure in Hollywoodland, so voting really might do more help than hurt. Of course, the first major Asian motion picture is Seven Samurai by Akira Kurosawa but Nora Aunor (Philippines) deserves it just much.
As a movie buff, I cannot limit this blog into just Hollywood movies especially because I’ve purchased a domain specifically for Movie News. So to differentiate topics on this blog, I’m gonna start writing about Asian movies.
