Speaking to MediaBlvd, Taylor Kitsch said that he was unknown to Gambit until he became involved in the Wolverine movie:
“I love the character, I love the powers, and I love what they did with him,” Kitsch says. “I didn’t know that much [about the role], but in my experience, it was a blessing to go in and create my take on him. …It’s a fun role. You’ll have fun watching it.”
Perhaps another interesting point about us who know Gambit is that he has a peculiar, charming, southerner John Edwards accent - only more manly. It’s probably one of the littler things fanboys would want to see in the movie. Gambit is definitely one of the characters people are looking forward to for the coming Wolverine flick.
