The initial buzz was that Kirsten Dunst was likely not be cast in the upcoming Spiderman films to be released on 2009. However, today new rumors have circulated that Sony is also unlikely to cast Tobey Mcguire for the sequel. Of course Marvel isn’t saying anything about this — pretty much so when you have a whole line of other movies to promote.
But while all camps maintain that no offer has been made yet to any actors, the buzz is that two actors are in talk to reprise the role. Who are they?
Patrick Fugit
I totally get the Peter Parker semblance and I think he’d definitely cut it for the part but seriously, I checked for photos of this dude online and he seems to have had the same hairdo since 1999.
Anyway, I dont take him for a bad actor so I guess he’d be a good Spiderman. What’s not going for me though is that he looks a bit old for the part. I checked Wikipedia and he’s apparently 25-26 so guess he fits right in. Tobey McGuire is in his 30’s.
Michael Angarano
The other Spider-dude on the so-called list is Michael Angarano who might probably play Spiderman as well just so he wouldn’t be remembered as “the guy from the Forbidden Kingdom.” Seriously, that movie sucked — and I’m Asian.
What’s not going for me is that while he looks slender and I do think he can act, I dont know, I dont see him swinging ‘cross buildings saving me. My spider sense isn’t getting a vibe. He might be a good villain though… say, Electro?
So anyways
For me, the good thing is that Tobey wouldn’t be there anymore — after his emo dance in the last installment, I sort of lost respect for him and Sam Raimi. On the other hand though, I think people should be looking other places for the next Spiderman.
Care for suggestions? How about Justin Long?

wow! new casts and that’s exciting. spider man’s character is very flexible making tobey not the only one worthy of this role. i have no idea of a person who can best fit it but your list here looks good enough for that role.
